A photographic competition

An opportunity to see Carisbrooke through the eyes of others. Photograph every aspect of life in the parish during 2018. A chance for young and the not so young to depict the world around them. An opportunity for the beginner and the more experienced photographer.

The photographs must be taken within the ecclesiastical parish of Carisbrooke – one of the largest parishes on the Island. This is a vast area and includes large stretches of Parkhurst Forest and farmland as well as the whole of the village of Carisbrooke along with Gunville, Bowcombe and Idlecombe. There are numerous listed buildings as well as many new developments. The parish is home to a variety of schools and businesses.

Can you reveal some of its hidden gems?

(Please note Carisbrooke Priory is not within the parish.)

The competition is organised by the Friends of Carisbrooke Church who raise funds for the upkeep of this Grade 1 listed building. We hope the competition will involve the community in looking at the area around them and capture Carisbrooke life in 2018.

There will be three prizes in each category. Shortlisted photographs will be displayed at an exhibition in Carisbrooke in early Spring 2019 when the winners will be announced. There will also be an opportunity for everyone who visits the exhibition to choose their favourite photograph. There will be a separate prize for “The People’s Choice”. Further details of the prizes will be announced later.
